Joint-stock Company: Nadra
The beginning of the company activity involved conducting scientific research on the study and development of deposits of energy, minerals and water (underground waters) resources on the order of Ukrainian mining enterprises. The company developed the first concept of energy security of Ukraine (oil and gas) (1992) on the order of the government of Ukraine.
The initiation and the creation of the Ukrainian external economic oil and gas corporation entitled «Ukrzarubizhnaftohaz» was an association of 37 enterprises of the oil and gas complex of Ukraine to output their own products and services in the foreign markets and the integration into the global economy. From 1991 to 1995, the main activity of JSC «Nadra», one of participants of the association, was participation in projects and programmes of the above-mentioned corporation.
Deliveries, according to the government programmes, of products and services of 98 enterprises of an oil and gas complex of Ukraine to the gas and oil producing enterprises of the Tyumen region of the Russian Federation in exchange for oil counter-deliveries to Ukraine (Decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine # 139, from February, 27th 1993 «On measures to ensure in 1993 oil supplies to Ukraine and participation of Ukrainian enterprises and organisations in the development of the West Siberian oil and gas complex» and # 265 on April 28th, 1994 «On measures to ensure during the current year the oil supplies to Ukraine on account of work performance in the oil and gas producing regions of the Russian Federation and supply them logistical resources and food/consumer goods») and to the RAO «Gazprom» and its subsidiaries – on account of repayment of debts of the JSC «Ukrgazprom» for the consumed Russian natural gas (Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine # 152, from March, 5th 1994 «On the supply of products to Russian enterprises on account of debts for natural gas and oil»).
In 1994–1995 is implemented a programme of supplying industrial products and geological-geophysical services to subsidiaries of the JSC «Ukrgazprom» in payment for transit of Russian natural gas.
Under arrangements with the government of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen oil and gas companies, the supplies of production, geophysical, drilling and other equipment of the Ukrainian production, building of gas pipelines and compressor plants, scientific and technical cooperation in the oil and gas industry were carried out. The contracts on the equipment supplies to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have been signed and executed.
At this time, for the Ukrainian oil and gas enterprises, the task of penetration to the far abroad markets had been solved. For the purpose of supplying the Ukrainian machinery and technical products on the Southeast Asian market, the representation in the free economic zone had been organised – Chanchzhou (People’s Republic of China). The contract on drilling of deep wells for gas search in India was prepared. Preparatory work on tenders for the repair of gas wells in Egypt, drilling oil and gas wells in the Sudan and Yemen, and hydrogeological drilling in Jordan was conducted. JSC «Nadra» represented the interests of the Ukrainian enterprises in the negotiations with the Ministry of oil of the Republic of Iraq.
Thus, JSC «Nadra» has constantly performed marketing researches on foreign markets, and also the advertising of products and services of the Ukrainian enterprises at the international oil and gas exhibitions and conferences was carried out (Almaty, Ashgabat, Kyiv, Moscow, Beijing, Istanbul, etc.).
During the activity, JSC «Nadra» has proven its ability to carry out scale projects, consolidating scientific and technical potentials of the Ukrainian enterprises. Thanks to this activity, the considerable proportion of the Ukrainian goods and service producers obtained an opportunity to develop, modernise the material base and to master the new markets.
In late 1995, UZNHK «Ukrzarubizhnaftogaz» terminated the performance of government programmes and JSC «Nadra» stopped its collaboration with the said corporation.
Taking part in the organisation of the supply of products and services, oil and gas extraction enterprises of the Russian Federation and other countries, JSC «Nadra» has knowledge about all the needs of these enterprises, from geological exploration and arrangement of fields to support the oil and gas production for the entire life cycle of the fields.
Having also studied the experience and structure of services and the range of equipment of the world’s leading service companies (Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Weatherford, CGG and others), the management of JSC «Nadra» started to create such service companies in Ukraine.
Engaging of the advanced domestic and foreign technology and equipment as well as creation based on JSC «Nadra» of group of the specialised exploration companies. Implementation of 3D seismic surveys (JSC «Ukrnaftogazeofizyka» 1998), geological and geophysical data processing and interpretation (JSC «Nadra Concern», 1999) and well geophysical investigations (CJSC «Ukrpromgeofizyka», 1999). Purchase during privatisation of controlling interests of leading Ukrainian factories on the manufacture of geophysical tools (JSC «Kiev plant «Geofizprylad», 1996), drilling rigs (JSC «Stryi factory «Metalist», 1997) and well completion and repair equipment (JSC «Geotehnika», 1998).
